Biographies

Dr. Rosanna Wong, DBE, JP

  • Joined Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) straight after graduation. Currently the Executive Director of HKFYG, the city's main youth work organization.

  • Appointed Justice of the Peace in 1989 and Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1997 and became the second and last Chinese woman to be made a Dame in history.

  • Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Member of the Commission on Poverty of the Government of the HKSAR.

  • Serves as a Court Member of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and as a Member of the HKUST Business School Advisory Council. She is also a Court Member of The University of Hong Kong. In addition, is an elected Member of the Council.

  • Non-executive director of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited, Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited and The Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotel Limited. Global Advisor to Mars, Inc. and Non-Executive Chairman of The Hong Kong Bank Foundation's Advisory Committee.

  • A former Member of the Executive and Legislative Councils.

  • Appointed as a member of the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service with more than twenty years of service.

  • Currently Chairperson of World Vision Hong Kong and Director of the board of The Dragon Foundation.

  • Former Chairperson of the Education Commission, the Hong Kong Housing Authority, the Commission on Youth and the Social Welfare Advisory Committee.

  • Graduated from University of Hong Kong in Social Work and later obtained a Master's Degree in Social Work from University of Toronto and a doctorate of sociology from the University of California, Davis. Made an Honorary Fellow of the London School of Economics and Political Science and bestowed the Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter Honouree Award by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

 

Mr. Michael Leung

  • Currently Vice Chairman of St. James Settlement, which serves the community and needies, whom are kids, youngsters, families, mentally retarded people and elderly.

  • Founder and currently Executive Chairman of Onwel Group of Companies.

  • Currently President of Skechers Hong Kong Limited.

  • Entrepreneur with extensive international experience in garment manufacturing and trading.

  • With over twenty years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Founder and former Executive Vice Chairman of China Resources Peoples Telephone, founder and former Managing Director of China Telephone Company Limited and former Managing Director of Peoples Telephone Company Ltd and founder and currently Managing Director of Telepaging Limited.

  • Currently Independent Non-executive Director of Raymond Industrial Ltd.

  • Previously Independent Non-Executive Director of Dickson Concepts International Ltd.

  • Graduated from University of Hong Kong with Bachelor of Arts and later on obtained a Diploma in Social Work.

 

Mr. Michael Lai, BBS, MH, JP

  • Served as Chief Executive Officer of St. James Settlement for more than 22 years and served as Superintendent of SKH St. Christopher's Children Home for 14 years.

  • Currently consultant in the joint project of the redevelopment of St. James' Settlement, St. James' Church and St. James' Primary School in Kennedy Road.

  • Currently acting as School Managers for a number of SHK (Anglican) schools and Vestry Member of SKH (Anglican) Christ Church, Kowloon Tong.

  • Currently Vice Chairman of Habitat For Humanity China; Vice Patron of The Community Chest; Director of Hong Kong Physically Handicapped and Able-Bodied (PHAB) Association; Governor & Executive Committee Member of Charles K Kao Foundation for Alzheimer's Disease; Chairman of the World Green Organization; and Honorary Secretary of SKH Welfare Council.

  • Served on a number of Government's Advisory Boards and Committees such as Central Policy Unit, Social Welfare Advisory Committee, Elderly Commission, Urban Renewal Authority, Town Planning Board, District Board and the Council for Sustainable Development, Commission on Strategic Development.

  • Active involvement in improving the community and helped establish a number of community projects such as the Community Economy Projects and People's Food Bank.

  • Appointed Justices of the Peace in 1993, awarded the Medal of Honour in 2006, nominated as one of the 40 Outstanding Graduates by the Faculty of Social Sciences University of Hong Kong in 2007 and awarded Bronze Bauhinia Star in 2012.

  • Graduated from University of Hong Kong in Social Sciences.
