Annual ACO Christmas Party
It was a fantastic afternoon for mentors, mentees and board of directors catching up over ginger cookies, cake and playing taboo. A good wrap up for year 2013 and we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a great 2014!

Oxbridge Application Deadline
After months of intensive preparation, ACO has successfully helped 4 students to apply for Oxbridge 2014 entrance. We will continue with our help with their interview preparation in the coming month and we wish them all the best!
Final Evaluation

Today is ACO’s final evaluation day and closing ceremony of summer careers program. Each student had the chance to have one on one tutor to give them feedbacks on their HK University personal statement and CV. Congratulations to all the students who have successfully completed ACO’s careers program.
Today is the last day of job shadowing! We hope you have all benefited from the hands-on experience from your assigned workplaces! Enjoy your summer.

Students have spent the morning visiting Deloitte's office to understand more about the industry and career path of accounting. Thank you Mr. Philip Tsai, Partner of Deloitte, Ms. Lusa Lam, Associate Director of HKICPA, and Deloitte Club members for their sincere sharing! Students have a very different perspective towards accounting after the visit and may consider accounting as one of their future possible career aspiration!

Visit to Ho and Partners Architect (HPA)
Thank you Mr. Ho from Ho and Partners Architect for the warm greetings and organizing workshops for our students! Students were able to understand more about the field of architecture from the speakers' sharing and have the chance to see the actual building models. Students enjoyed the office tour and ice-cream a lot!
Company visit to Allen & Overy (A&O)

Appreciate Allen & Overy for arranging the fruitful morning program to our students! The causal environment has encouraged the students to ask more questions and speak up. Many were inspired by different speaker's sharing session and understood more about the career path of law and what lawyers do. Most students' take on were to study what they are passionate about in life, and not to follow others!

A visit to Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital
Thank you Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital for giving our students a rare opportunity to visit different departments of a hospital and understood the responsibilities of each department and how a hospital operates in a whole. It is definitely an eye-opening experience for our students to explore!
Barclays Day

Our first day of Corporate Workshop Week kicks off at Barclays! Thank you Barclays for organizing workshops on personal and career development! Speakers went through different topics including self-development analysis, mentoring circle, professional presence, Art of Networking, and a chance to network with Barclays' staffs at the end! Students were able to improve their interpersonal skills and understood more about themselves through the self-assessment.

It has been a long and challenging day for the 23 students taught by Matthew Mingey, Head of Debate programs and instructor at ARCH Education. Students were being exposed to quirky interview questions to develop their critical thinking skills and how to tackle such problems. They also had an opportunity to practice group interview and presentation using the critical thinking skills they have just learnt and most importantly, they all received feedbacks for improvement. We hope our advices are helpful for their coming university and careers interviews!

Introductory meeting of mentors & mentees at "Meet the Mentors" event
ACO students, staff, alumni, mentors and board of directors were all invited to join our "Meet the Mentors" event for a relaxing, fun and enjoyable evening. The mentors and mentees were finally able to meet for their first time and everyone is excited about it. We hope the students have learnt how to communicate comfortably with industry professionals in the coming careers exposure.

ACO students have returned for their second Training Day before their real work exposure in the summer! The day started off with a training session by Jennifer Yu, Co-founder of ACO on standard introduction and later was divided into groups for a mock introduction of themselves. It was then followed by speakers sharing session, with Ms. Jessica Young, Deputy Chairman of The Friends of Cambridge University in HK, sharing with us on Cambridge Scholarship. Ms. Leonie Ki, Executive Director of New World Development Co. Ltd, shared with us on successful mentorship, career planning and networking.

ACO Training Day 1 is our first organized event this year for ACO participating students to attend.
