Careers Program is one of our highlight program in supporting academically high-achieving students from under-resourced backgrounds for FREE. Eligible students recommended by schools and have passed ACO's background assessment can enjoy a series of programs to enrich their educational and careers development during summer. This exciting opportunity for 2017 is now OPEN for enrollment!

This program includes personal statement, interview workshops, buddy system/ mentorship, corporate workshops and job shadowing opportunities. It would be a fruitful and rewarding experience for the students to explore their potential and realize their dreams!

ACO Holiday Party for 5th Anniversary

Sincerely thank you all the staff, mentors, students, sponsors and volunteers for joining our 5th Anniversary Celebration Holiday Party yesterday. It wouldn’t have been so successful without anyone of you.

Special thanks to our guest speakers, Mr. Andy Tsui (Director of Training and Development of Talentstrength Development Limited & Talentbaba Company Limited) & Mr. Gary Wong (Founder and Non-Executive Director of InspiringHK Sports Foundation) for their precious time and sharing. The inspirational sharing and passion of both speakers have not only highlighted our event, but also highly encouraged each and every audience to explore their individuals’ talent.

HKISMTC 2017 is now open for registration

Hong Kong Inter-School Mock Trial Championship 2017 (HKISMTC) is now open for registration.

Organized by ARCH Community Outreach (ACO) and partnered with Empire Mock Trial (EMT), the champions of HKISMTC are entitled with an opportunity to compete at the International Mock Trial Championship in the U.S. against the best teams in the world!

Teacher Training Workshop for Teach4HK

We would like to proudly announce that the ACO teacher training workshop for #Teach4HK was successfully completed on 29 Oct 2016. A total of 18 fellows joined the series which stretched over two comprehensive sessions, conducted by Ms. Gail Muller, Director of Enrichment and Academic Programmes of #ARCHEducation. All the attendees found the courses very rewarding and full of practical advice to take forward into their classrooms to help improve and progress student learning.

“‘I liked the interactivity as it shows how a class can be engaged in a conversational way. The session provided a lot of practical advice and theories that will be very useful for our teaching career.” Xin Yi, one of the fellows said.

Teach4HK shares similar mission with ACO related to the education landscape for under-resourced students, we are happy to support them in building up the Hong Kong youth community.

The Last Evaluation Day 2016

The last Evaluation Day marked the end of summer with our ACO students! We had our last personal statement workshop including, HKDSE, JUPAS tips and the Closing Ceremony. We are grateful to the ARCH tutors and ACO alumni who volunteered for the day, their valuable advice were both useful and inspiring!

Review and Interview Skills Workshop Supported by Morgan Stanley

Thank you Morgan Stanley volunteers for organizing the resume review and interview skills workshop for our students! They all enjoyed the session and found the advice from volunteers beneficial. The 1 on 1 mock interview was also a great opportunity for them to practice their interview skills with professionals. It was an invaluable and engaging experience. Thanks again to Morgan Stanley!

ACO Student awarded the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence 2016

Congratulations to one of our alumni, Thomas Yau, who has been awarded the Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence 2016. ACO has been supporting Thomas in his UK university application and, with the scholarship, he will now pursue his dream to read Law in LSE this September.

Last week, students had a really fruitful week of corporate workshops and they didn't want to bid farewell on the last day. Hope they will equally enjoy and learn from their job shadowing this week!

Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital Workshop 2016

Thank you Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital for offering such an invaluable experience for the ACO students this year again. The students had a great time visiting and learning about all the different departments ranging from radiology to physiotherapy to ward facilities and so on. Thank you again for giving our student and unique and educational experience.

Allen & Overy Workshop 2016

Many thanks to Allen & Overy for offering ACO students an invaluable experience of visiting their office and a half day workshop. The students were given an in depth insight on the legal industry during the panel discussion. They all enjoyed the casual mentoring lunch along with the enlightening sharing by the professional lawyers and the interns, it was a very fruitful workshop for everyone!

It was an eye-opening experience, the students were amazed by the high standard and innovative systems and facilities. Barclays Workshop 2016

Thank you Barclays for supporting ACO for the fifth consecutive year. It was nice to kick off for our corporate workshop week. Practical and useful tips about time management and prioritization have been shared with our students. The ice-breaking game was fun and the students learnt a lot during the mentoring circle time.

Careers Program 2016 Super Day Interview

Thanks to all the students who came to the interview today. It's been a very long day and we hope you will all benefit from this experience regardless of the result. Thanks again to all the volunteers who helped out! It will be another amazing year!

This year we have opened our careers program application to all students who are currently studying Form 4 or 5 in Hong Kong local school. We are excited to see some applications from new school network such as Christian Alliance S C Chan Memorial College, Jockey Club Ti-I College and SKH Lam Kau Mow Secondary School, to name a few. Selected candidate will be asked to attend an interview in April.

Today, 8 ARCH Instructors volunteered at SKH Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary school in Shatin to deliver the ACO Literacy Workshop to over 100 students from across 10 ACO participating schools. The workshop covered key literacy skills which strengthened students’ learning. The workshop also introduced the Young Laureate Award, a nationwide Reading and Writing competition to students across Forms 1-5. This is an exciting opportunity for students from all backgrounds to showcase their talent and given how impressed our instructors were with the enthusiasm and diligence on display, we can’t wait to see what they produce for the Young Laureate Award!!
